The visit experience
The historical presence and involvement of women in the complex world of water, although little known and documented, is a significant and constant thread throughout history. During your visit to the Water House Museum, we will delve into this relationship as we explore its five thematic rooms.
The natural and historical lifecycle of water in Córdoba, as a vital element, will serve as a guiding narrative to understand the customs, uses, and challenges associated with water consumption over the centuries.
Our narrative primarily focuses on the period from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century, a time of profound transformations and urban changes. During the exhibition tour, you will encounter archaeological remains, infrastructure from different historical eras, ethnographic collections, and ample graphical information to provide a comprehensive and realistic overview.
The unique museum space at the Water House is strategically situated next to the Portillo Gate, connecting the Medina with the Ajerquía, and dedicating the entire ground floor of houses numbers 6 and 8 to the museum.
