Composers embodied in a free, brave, limitless and strong woman who throughout history has managed to make her voice flow through music. The universal Alba Ventura offers us a tribute to the passionate, resilient woman, full of certainty but also of chiaroscuros. Also to that duality that is imposed before a woman who must choose between being free or reciprocating love.
She will do it with Chopin preludes, those little snippets of melodies made each and every one of them to communicate an idea or a feeling. Which is why some of them appear in the films of Bergman and Kurosawa and in songs by Zeppelin, Antonio Carlos Jobin, Jan Michael Jarre or Jane Birkin. As Liszt himself argued, Chopin’s preludes are all compositions of a different caliber, which will make us experience an authentic carousel of emotions.
The second part will be a tribute to the considered best Spanish pianist of the 20th century, Alicia de Larrocha, who in 2023 marks the 100th Anniversary of her birth. Prodigy girl who gave her first concert at the age of six, becoming the pianist in our country with the greatest international projection, winner of 2 Grammys and named Best Artist in the World in 1977. De Larrocha left us a vast legacy through numerous recordings of the Spanish musical repertoire and to honor her there is no better performer than Alba Ventura. A disciple of Alicia herself, from whom she received master classes, she will transport us to a program of enormous passion and Iberian color.
Alba has such notable awards as the Queen Elizabeth Rosebowl presented by the Prince of Wales, the MIN Award for best classical music album 2020, the IMPULSA Award from the Prince of Girona Foundation and the Albéniz Medal from the Isaac Albéniz Foundation, being a of the most outstanding Spanish pianists today.
