Faculty member at the University of Veracruz in the Center for Jazz Studies and the Faculty of Music. He is pianist, composer, arranger, and educator. He has taught at the JazzUV Center for Studies and the Faculty of Music at the University of Veracruz. Recognized in the Spanish music scene for his versatility and ability to interpret different styles such as Latin jazz, “son jarocho,” and classical music.
In 2016, he recorded an album with Daniel Smith and renowned musicians from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Alonso Blanco has performed at prestigious venues and festivals, including the Gulf Coast Festival in Florida, Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico, International Percussion Festival in Argentina, International Latin Jazz Festival in San Francisco, CA, Mexico City Jazz Festival, Cumbre Tajín, International Son Jarocho Festival in Los Angeles, California, among others.
Originally from Huatusco, Veracruz, he is currently one of the most sought-after pianists in Mexico, thanks to his versatility and deep understanding of different musical styles. He currently serves as a piano professor at Jazz UV in Xalapa.
