\u00c1ngel G. Pi\u00f1ero, a native of C\u00e1diz, is synonymous with the Spanish guitar. With 17 years of formal study and six decades devoted to this instrument, he not only mastered it but also composed, developed guitar teaching methods, and performed as a soloist. His exceptional guitar playing, sensitivity, and unparalleled expertise placed him among the foremost figures in the world of Spanish classical guitar. His mission was to create a repertoire for young artists and enrich the legacy of classical guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the words of the singular guitarist and composer, <\/strong>the guitar<\/em><\/strong><\/a> itself is timeless and immortal; only the hands that caress it change over time. Music owes a historical debt to the Spanish classical guitar<\/em>, and <\/strong>\u00c1ngel G. Pi\u00f1ero<\/strong><\/a>‘s aspiration was to contribute to reducing that debt<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On February 22, 2022, Pi\u00f1ero left us, but his wife Catherine Lacoste, one of the greatest female golfers of the 20th century, continues to keep his projects and legacy alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For me, it’s a way to keep living with him for a few more years. We were lucky to enjoy our time together, and this is like making everything he composed grow as much as possible and spreading it worldwide without limits. So, these projects remain valid and will continue to grow.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this edition, IPF Guadalquivir pays tribute to the great figure of Angel G. Pi\u00f1ero, in the most universal way possible\u2014an online encounter featuring the words of his wife, Catherine Lacoste, and the melody of the internationally acclaimed Paraguayan guitarist \u00c1ngela Rodr\u00edguez.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
