Rosa Torres-Pardo, the recipient of the National Music Prize in 2017, stands as one of Spain’s most renowned pianists. She earned the Extraordinary Graduation Award from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid. Her education led her to study with Joaqu\u00edn Soriano and Gloria Olaya in Spain, followed by further studies with Mar\u00eda Curcio in London, Adele Marcus at The Juilliard School of Music in New York, and Hans Graff in Vienna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout her illustrious career, Rosa has garnered numerous honors and awards. Notably, she won the Masterplayers International Piano Competition in Lugano, Switzerland. Additionally, Rosa received the Isaac Alb\u00e9niz Medal for performance and dissemination in the Iberian peninsula, sharing the award with Alicia de Larrocha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her performances have been conducted by renowned maestros like Charles Dutoit, Vladimir Spivakov, Tam\u00e1s V\u00e1s\u00e1ry, Jos\u00e9 Serebrier, Yuri Temirkanov, and Jean Fournet. Rosa has appeared in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington, Wigmore Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Musikhalle in Hamburg, Teatro Col\u00f3n in Buenos Aires, Hong Kong City Hall, Sala de las Columnas in Moscow, and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rosa has also shared the stage with Pl\u00e1cido Domingo in the United States and delivered concerts and recitals in Spain in collaboration with the country’s most prestigious orchestras. Rosa Torres-Pardo ‘s discography features recordings for esteemed labels like Decca, Deutsche Grammophon, Calando, Naxos, and Glossa. Her recorded works include remarkable performances of Granados’ Goyescas, Ballets Russes (Prokofiev and Stravinsky), Montsalvatge’s Concierto Breve, and Alb\u00e9niz’s Rapsodia, in collaboration with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra. She has also recorded Nin Culmell’s Concerto with the Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville and Concerto No. 3 by Balada with the Symphony Orchestra of Barcelona and National Orchestra of Catalonia. Recently, she recorded “Tangos, habaneras y otras milongas” for Deutsche Grammophon, “Las Horas Vac\u00edas” by Ricardo Llorca with the Manhattan Choral Ensemble, and Antonio Soler’s Quintets for Columna M\u00fasica with the Breton Quartet. In recent years, Rosa Torres-Pardo has engaged in various interdisciplinary projects, including the musical film “Iberia” directed by Carlos Saura, “Alb\u00e9niz, el color de la m\u00fasica” by L\u00f3pez-Linares, “La vida rima” alongside singer Ana Bel\u00e9n, and “As\u00ed que pasen 100 a\u00f1os” by Javier Rioyo. Additionally, she has produced and starred in documentary films “Una rosa para Soler,” which focuses on the composer Antonio Soler, and “El amor y la muerte,” dedicated to Enrique Granados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Looking ahead, Rosa Torres-Pardo is set to embark on “The Runaways,” a concert tour taking her to various cities in the United States, including New York, Albuquerque, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Furthermore, she is involved in “Nosotros,” a project alongside the acclaimed actor Mario Gas. With a script by Luis Garcia Montero, “Nosotros” will premiere at the Abad\u00eda Theater in Madrid in December 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
